1991 — Abū Muhammad ʿAbd Allāh ibn Sālih al-Bukhārī also informed us, saying: ⦗2501⦘ ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿUmar ibn Abān al-Kūfī, Muhammad ibn Sulaymān Luwayn, and ʿAbd al-Rahmān ibn Wāqid, Abū Muslim al-Muʾaddib, narrated to us, saying: Ibrāhīm ibn Saʿd narrated to us, from ʿUbayda ibn Abī Rāʾita, from ʿAbd al-Rahmān ibn ʿAbd Allāh, from ʿAbd Allāh ibn Mughaffal, who said: The Messenger of Allah—peace and blessings of Allah be upon him—said: “Fear Allah—fear Allah—in your treatment of my Companions. Do not make them targets after I am gone. Whoever loves them does so out of love for me, and whoever hates them does so out of hatred for me. Whoever harms them has harmed me; whoever harms me has offended Allah; and whoever offends Allah—Mighty and Majestic—is in imminent danger of being seized by Him.”
1992 — Ibrāhīm ibn al-Haytham al-Nāqid informed us, saying: Abū Maʿmar al-Qatīʿī narrated to us, saying: Ibrāhīm ibn Saʿd narrated to us, from ʿUbayda ibn Abī Rāʾita, from ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿAbd al-Rahmān, from Ibn Mughaffal, who said: The Messenger of Allah—peace and blessings of Allah be upon him—said: “Fear Allah—fear Allah—in your treatment of my Companions.” He then related the hadith to its conclusion in the same wording.
