1990 — Abū al-ʿAbbās ʿAbd Allāh ibn al-Saqr al-Sukkarī narrated to us, saying: Ibrāhīm ibn al-Mundhir al-Hizāmī narrated to us, saying: Muhammad ibn Talha narrated to us, saying: ʿAbd al-Rahmān ibn Sālim ibn ʿUtba ibn ʿUwaym ibn Sāʿida narrated to us, from his father, from his grandfather, who said: The Messenger of Allah—peace and blessings of Allah be upon him—said: “Allah—Mighty and Majestic—chose me and chose Companions for me, appointing from among them ministers, relatives by marriage, and supporters. Whoever reviles them shall incur the curse of Allah, the angels, and all humanity. Allah will accept from him neither an obligatory nor a voluntary deed.”
Ibrāhīm ibn al-Mundhir said: “The obligatory and voluntary deeds are what is meant by ‘neither an exchange nor a compensation.’”
