1987 — Abū al-Fadl al-ʿAbbās ibn Yūsuf al-Shiklī narrated to us, saying: Muhammad ibn al-Faraj al-Bazzār narrated to us, saying: Khalaf ibn Tamīm narrated to me, saying: ʿAbd Allah ibn al-Sarī narrated to me, saying: Muhammad ibn al-Munkadir narrated to me, from Jābir ibn ʿAbd Allah, who said: The Messenger of Allah—peace and blessings of Allah be upon him—said:

“When my nation openly promotes religious innovations and my Companions are reviled, let the scholar make his knowledge known; for one who conceals knowledge on that day is like one who conceals what Allah revealed to Muhammad—peace and blessings of Allah be upon him.”
