Chapter: On the Curse upon Anyone Who Reviles the Companions of the Messenger of Allah—peace and blessings of Allah be upon him
Muhammad ibn al-Husayn—may Allah have mercy on him—said: The Prophet—peace and blessings of Allah be upon him—knew that toward the end of time there would be people who would curse his Companions. He—peace and blessings of Allah be upon him—therefore cursed anyone who cursed or reviled his Companions, saying:
“Whoever curses my Companions, upon him is the curse of Allah, the angels, and all mankind. Allah will accept from him neither sarf nor adl.”
It is said that sarf refers to obligatory acts of worship and adl to voluntary ones. He then commanded all people to uphold his due concerning his Companions and to honor them.
Muhammad ibn al-Husayn—may Allah have mercy on him—said: Anyone who fails to honor them has dishonored them. Whoever reviles them has reviled the Messenger of Allah—peace and blessings of Allah be upon him—and whoever reviles the Messenger of Allah—peace and blessings of Allah be upon him—deserves the curse of Allah—Glorious and Exalted—the angels, and all mankind. He—peace and blessings of Allah be upon him—also said:
“When the latter generations of this nation curse its earliest generations, whoever possesses knowledge must make it known. For whoever conceals knowledge at that time is like one who conceals what Allah revealed to Muhammad—peace and blessings of Allah be upon him.”
