1943 – Ibn Nājiya informed us, saying: Abū Maʿmar al-Qatīʿī, Yaʿqūb al-Dawraqī, and Khallād ibn Aslam narrated to us. They said: Marwān ibn Shujāʿ narrated to us, saying: Khusayf narrated to us, from Mujāhid and ʿAtāʾ—Yaʿqūb added: “and Tāwūs”—from Ibn ʿAbbās, that Muāwiya—may Allah be pleased with him—informed him that he had trimmed the Messenger of Allah’s hair—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—with an arrowhead. Ibn ʿAbbās said: “Muāwiya was not one to be suspected of falsely attributing anything to the Messenger of Allah—may Allah bless him and grant him peace.”
