1940 — Abū Bakr Muhammad ibn al-Husayn ibn Shahrayār al-Balkhī narrated to us, saying: Hārūn ibn al-Abbās al-Hāshimī—may Allah have mercy on him—narrated to us, saying: Al-Alā ibn Amr, Abū Amr al-Bustī, narrated to us, saying: Marwān ibn Muāwiya narrated to us, from Thawr ibn Yazīd, from Khālid ibn Madān, from Nawf al-Bikālī, who said: When the Throne Verse was revealed, the Messenger of Allah—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—sent for Muāwiya—may Allah be pleased with him—and said, “Write it down, for you will receive a reward equal to that of everyone who recites it until the Day of Resurrection.”
