1928 — Al-Firyābī also narrated to us, saying: Muhammad ibn Musaffā narrated to us, saying: Muhammad ibn Harb narrated to us, saying: Abū Bakr ibn Abī Maryam narrated to us, from Abū Sufyān Muhammad ibn Ziyād, from Awf ibn Mālik, who said: While he was asleep in a church during the midday rest, he awoke from his nap and suddenly found a lion before him. He reached for his weapon, but the lion said, “Do not be afraid. I am your Lord’s messenger to you. Know that Muāwiya al-Rahhāl is among the people of Paradise.” He said: I asked, “Who is Muāwiya al-Rahhāl?” It replied, “Muāwiya ibn Abī Sufyān.”
1929 — Ibn Nājiya also informed us, saying: Rawh ibn al-Faraj al-Mukharrimī narrated to us, saying ⦗2447⦘: Al-Muallā ibn al-Walīd ibn al-Qaqā al-Absī narrated to us, saying: Muhammad ibn Harb al-Abrash al-Himsī narrated to us, from Abū Bakr ibn Abī Maryam al-Ghassānī, from Muhammad ibn Ziyād, from Awf ibn Mālik al-Ashjaī. He then related the hadith similarly to al-Firyābī’s narration.
