1923 — Al-Firyābī narrated to us, saying: Qutayba ibn Saīd narrated to us, saying: Ismāīl ibn Jafar narrated to us, from Abd Allah ibn Abd al-Rahmān ibn Mamar, Abū Tuwāla al-Ansārī, who heard Anas ibn Mālik say: The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, came to the home of Umm Harām bint Milhān, ⦗2442⦘ Anas’s maternal aunt. He rested his head there, then raised it and laughed. She asked, “O Messenger of Allah, what made you laugh?”
He replied, “I saw people from my nation sailing upon this sea, like kings upon thrones.”
She said, “O Messenger of Allah, pray to Allah to make me one of them.”
He said, “O Allah, make her one of them.”
He then did the same thing twice more. She said, “Pray to Allah to make me one of them.”
He replied, “You are among the first, not among the later ones.”
Ubāda ibn al-Sāmit subsequently married her and took her with him on a naval campaign alongside Muāwiya’s sister—may Allah be pleased with her. When Umm Harām returned, she mounted an animal of hers on the coast. It began to bound beneath her, and she fell and died.
