1880 — Ibn Abd al-Hamīd also narrated to us, saying: Muhammad ibn al-Muthannā narrated to us, saying: al-Hajjāj ibn al-Minhāl narrated to us, saying: Hammād ibn Salama narrated to us, from Hishām ibn Urwa, from his father, from Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), who said: “The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) married me following Khadija’s death (may Allah be pleased with her), before his departure from Mecca, when I was seven—or six—years old. When we arrived in Medina, some women came to me while I was playing on a swing, with my hair reaching my shoulders. They prepared and adorned me, then brought me to the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace).”
