1870 — Ibn Makhlad narrated to us, saying: I read the Book of Pilgrimage Rites to Ibrāhīm al-Harbī. He said: “Turn your back toward the qibla and face the middle of it, then say: ‘Peace be upon you, O Prophet, and the mercy and blessings of Allah.’” He then mentioned the greeting and the supplication. He said: “Next, move a little to your left and say: ‘Peace be upon you, O Abū Bakr and Umar.’” He then related the rest of the report.
