1845 — Abū Bakr al-Mutarriz also narrated to us: ‘Ammār ibn al-Hasan al-Nasā’ī narrated to us: Salama ibn al-Fadl narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn Ishāq, from Husayn ibn ‘Abd Allāh, from ‘Ikrima, from Ibn ‘Abbās, who said:

When the preparations for the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, had been completed on Tuesday, he was laid upon his bed in his house. The Muslims had disagreed over where to bury him. Some said, “We shall bury him in his mosque,” while others said, “He should be buried with his Companions.” Abū Bakr—may Allah be pleased with him—then said, “I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say: ‘Allah, Mighty and Majestic, never takes the soul of a Prophet except that he is buried where he died.’”
