The Burial of Abū Bakr and Umar—may Allah be pleased with them both—alongside the Prophet—peace and blessings be upon him
Muhammad ibn al-Husayn—may Allah have mercy upon him—said:
Praise be to Allah, by whose grace righteous deeds are brought to completion, and praise be to Allah in every circumstance. May Allah send blessings and peace upon Muhammad the Prophet and his family.
To proceed: A questioner asked about the burial of Abū Bakr and Umar—may Allah be pleased with them both—alongside the Prophet—peace and blessings be upon him: How did the matter of their burial beside him first arise? How are their graves situated in relation to his grave? Had any report previously come from the Prophet—peace and blessings be upon him—indicating that Abū Bakr and Umar—may Allah be pleased with them both—would be buried alongside him in the same house—the house of Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her?
The questioner wished to gain thorough knowledge of this matter, so I agreed to answer him. Allah is the One whose help is sought in this, and there is neither might nor power except through Allah, the Most High, the Magnificent.
Muhammad ibn al-Husayn—may Allah have mercy upon him—said:
Anyone concerned with knowing the virtues of Abū Bakr, Umar, Uthmān, and Ali—may Allah be pleased with them all—and the virtues of the Emigrants and the Helpers, in accordance with what we have previously mentioned in The Book of the Sacred Law, must also acquire knowledge of this matter, so that he may increase in knowledge, certainty, and understanding and remain untroubled by doubt concerning the authenticity of their burial alongside the Messenger of Allah—peace and blessings be upon him. Whenever an ignorant person devoid of knowledge challenges him, he will possess knowledge by which he can dispel the doubt and restore the matter to certainty in which there is no doubt. Allah is the One who grants success in every right course.
