1802 — Abū Saīd also narrated to us: Abbās al-Dūrī narrated to us: Khalaf ibn al-Walīd Abū al-Walīd al-Jawharī narrated to us: al-Ashjaī narrated to us, from Sufyān, from Sālim ibn Abī Hafsa, from Abd Allah ibn Mulayl, from Alī ibn Abī Tālib—⦗2318⦘ may Allah be pleased with him—who said, “Every prophet has seven distinguished men from his nation, while our Prophet—peace and blessings be upon him—has fourteen distinguished men, among them Abū Bakr and Umar—may Allah be pleased with them both.”
