1801 — Abū Saīd Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Ziyād al-Arābī also narrated to us: Muhammad ibn Ismāīl al-Sāigh narrated to us: Saīd ibn Sulaymān al-Wāsitī narrated to us: Muhammad ibn Abd al-Rahmān narrated to us: Jafar ibn Muhammad narrated to us, from his father, from his grandfather, from Alī—may Allah be pleased with him—who said:
While the Messenger of Allah—peace and blessings be upon him—was present, Abū Bakr and Umar—may Allah be pleased with them both—came into view. He said, “O Alī, these two are the leaders of the mature men among the people of Paradise—apart from the prophets and messengers—whether those who passed away in former ages ⦗2317⦘ or those who will come in later times. O Alī, do not tell them of this statement of mine for as long as they live.”
Muhammad ibn al-Husayn—may Allah have mercy on him—said: These noble and honored members of the Household of the Messenger of Allah—peace and blessings be upon him; may Allah be pleased with them—narrate from Alī—may Allah be pleased with him—a virtue such as this concerning Abū Bakr and Umar—may Allah be pleased with them both. May Allah, the Most Generous, reward the Prophet’s Household with goodness on behalf of all the Muslims.
