1800 — Abū Muhammad Abd Allah ibn Muhammad ibn Nājiya informed us: Wahb ibn Baqiyya al-Wāsitī narrated to us: Umar ibn Yūnus al-Yamāmī said, from Abd Allah ibn Umar, from al-Hasan ibn Zayd ibn al-Hasan, who said:
A group of people from Iraq came to him and said, “O Abū Muhammad, a hadith has reached us which you narrate from Alī ibn Abī Tālib—may Allah be pleased with him—concerning Abū Bakr and Umar—may Allah have mercy on them both.”
He replied, “Yes. My father narrated to me, from his father, from Alī ibn Abī Tālib—may Allah be pleased with him—who said:
‘I was with the Prophet—peace and blessings be upon him—when Abū Bakr and Umar—may Allah be pleased with them both—approached. He said, “O Alī, these two are the leaders of the mature men among the people of Paradise after the prophets and messengers.”’”
