Chapter: The Prohibition against the Doctrines of Those Who Suspend Judgment
Muhammad ibn al-Husayn said ⦗527⦘: As for those who said, “The Quran is the speech of Allah,” but suspended judgment concerning it and said, “We do not say that it is uncreated,” many of the scholars who refuted those who declared the Quran created said: “Those who suspend judgment are like those who say that the Quran is created—or even worse—for they have doubted their religion.” We seek refuge in Allah from anyone who doubts that the speech of the Lord is uncreated. I shall now relate what has reached us from the scholars who condemned those who suspend judgment.
