1789 — Abū al-Qāsim al-Baghawī also narrated to us, saying: Yahyā ibn ʿAbd al-Hamīd al-Himmānī narrated to me, saying: ʿAbd Allāh ibn Jaʿfar al-Mukharrimī narrated to us, saying: Umm Bakr bint al-Miswar ibn Makhrama narrated to me, from al-Miswar ibn Makhrama, who said: ʿAbd al-Rahmān ibn ⦗2304⦘ ʿAwf sold a piece of land he owned to ʿUthmān—may Allah be pleased with him—for forty thousand dinars. He distributed that money among Quraysh and Banū Makhzūm, and sent some of it with me to ʿĀʾisha—may Allah be pleased with her. She said: “I heard the Messenger of Allah—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—say: ‘After I am gone, none but the righteous will care tenderly for you.’” May Allah—Mighty and Majestic—give Ibn ʿAwf drink from the Salsabīl of Paradise.
