1771 — Abū Muhammad Abdullah ibn Muhammad ibn Nājiya informed us, saying: Hamza ibn Awn al-Masūdī narrated to us, saying: Abū Ibrāhīm Muhammad ibn al-Qāsim al-Asadī narrated to us, saying: Sufyān, Sharīk, and Abū Bakr ibn Ayyāsh narrated to us, from Āsim ibn Abī al-Najūd, from Zirr ibn Hubaysh, who said: “I was sitting with Ali—may Allah be pleased with him—when al-Zubayr’s head was brought in. Ali said, ‘Give the killer of Ibn Safiyya tidings of the Fire. I heard the Messenger of Allah—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—say: “Every prophet has a devoted supporter, and my devoted supporter is al-Zubayr.”’”
