1770 — Abū Bakr ibn Abī Dāwūd also narrated to us, saying: Abū Ubayd Allah Ahmad ibn Abd al-Rahmān ibn Wahb narrated to us, saying: My paternal uncle—Abd Allah ibn Wahb—narrated to us, saying: Muāwiya ibn Sālih narrated to us, from Yahyā ibn Saīd, from Suhayl ibn Abī Sālih, from his father, from Abū Hurayra, that the Messenger of Allah—peace and blessings be upon him—was on Mount Hirā, accompanied by Abū Bakr, Umar, Uthmān, Alī, Talha, al-Zubayr, Abd al-Rahmān ibn Awf, Sad ibn Abī Waqqās, and Saīd ibn Zayd. The mountain shook, so the Messenger of Allah—peace and blessings be upon him—said: “Be still, Hirā, for upon you there is none but a prophet, ⦗2289⦘ a man of perfect truth, or a martyr.” The mountain then became still.
Muhammad ibn al-Husayn—may Allah have mercy on him—said: We have already cited the testimony of the Quran and the sunnah that the ten are in Paradise, and that is sufficient merit. We shall now mention what has reached us concerning the merits of the remaining members of the ten—may Allah be pleased with them.
