1750 — Ibn Abī Dāwūd also narrated to us, saying: Muhammad ibn Abd Allah ibn Qahzādh narrated to us, saying: Hātim ibn al-Jallāb narrated to us, saying: I heard Abd al-Mumin ibn Khālid say: I heard Abd Allah ibn Burayda narrate from Ibn Abbās, may Allah be pleased with him, who said: “I came to the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, while Gabriel, peace be upon him, was with him. Gabriel said, ‘He is destined to become the scholar of this ummah, so take good care of him.’”
