1744 — Abū al-Qāsim Abd Allāh ibn Muhammad al-Baghawī narrated to us, saying: Abū al-Rabī al-Zahrānī narrated to us, saying: Abū Muāwiya al-Darīr narrated to us, from Abd al-Rahmān ibn Abd Allāh al-Umarī, from Nāfi, who said: During the Year of Ashes, Umar, may Allah be pleased with him, went out to seek rain and said: ⦗2263⦘ “O Allah, we used to seek access to You through our Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and You would grant us rain. Now we seek access to You through our Prophet’s uncle, so grant us rain.” They were then granted rain.
