1734 — Qāsim al-Mutarriz also narrated to us: ʿAlī ibn Nasr ibn ʿAlī al-Jahdamī narrated to us: I heard ʿAbd Allah ibn ʿUthmān ibn Ishāq ibn Saʿd ibn Abī Waqqās say: My maternal grandfather, Mālik ibn Hamza ibn Abī Usayd, narrated to me that he heard Abū Usayd al-Badrī say: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said to al-ʿAbbās ibn ʿAbd al-Muttalib, may Allah be pleased with him: “Do not leave your home until I come to you.” After the morning had advanced, he came to them, greeted them, and asked, “How are you this morning?” They replied, “We are well. May our father and mother be your ransom, O Messenger of Allah.” He said, “Come closer; draw together, each of you moving toward the others.” He then enveloped them in his cloak and said, “O Allah, this is my uncle and my father’s counterpart, and these are the members of my household. O Allah, shield them from the Fire just as I have covered them with this cloak of mine.” The threshold of the door said, “Amen,” and the wall of the house said, “Amen.”
