1730 — Abū Abd Allah Ahmad ibn al-Hasan ibn Abd al-Jabbār al-Sūfī and Abū al-Qāsim Abd Allah ibn Muhammad ibn Abd al-Azīz al-Baghawī narrated to us, saying: Muhammad ibn ⦗2250⦘ Abbād al-Makkī narrated to us, saying: Muhammad ibn Talha al-Taymī narrated to us, from Abū Suhayl ibn Mālik, from Saīd ibn al-Musayyib, from Sad, who said: We were with the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, at Naqī al-Khayl as he was preparing an expeditionary force, when al-Abbās, may Allah be pleased with him, came into view. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “This is al-Abbās, your Prophet’s paternal uncle—the most open-handed man of Quraysh and the one who best maintains ties with them.”
