Abū Bakr Jafar ibn Muhammad al-Firyābī informed us, saying: Qutaybah ibn Saīd narrated to us, saying: Saīd ibn Abd al-Jabbār al-Himsī narrated to us, saying: Muān ibn Rifāah al-Salāmī narrated to us, saying: Ibrāhīm ibn Abd al-Rahmān al-Udhrī reported that the Prophet—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—said: “This knowledge will be borne in every succeeding generation by its upright members, who will remove from it the distortions of extremists, the false claims of falsifiers, and the misinterpretations of the ignorant.”
