1718 — Abu al-Qāsim Badr ibn al-Haytham narrated to us, saying: Muhammad ibn Umar ibn al-Walīd narrated to us, saying: Shurayh ibn Maslama narrated to us, saying: Umar ibn Abd al-Ghaffār al-Fuqaymī narrated to us, from al-Aʿmash, from Adī ibn Thābit, from al-Barāʾ ibn Āzib, who said: When news reached the Messenger of Allah—peace and blessings be upon him—that Jaʿfar—may Allah be pleased with him—had been killed, he was deeply affected by it, until Gabriel—peace be upon him—came to him and said, “Allah, Glorious and Exalted, has given Jaʿfar two wings studded with pearls, with which he flies alongside the angels.”
