1699 – Ibn Abī Dāwūd narrated to us, saying: Ibn Abī Ayyūb and Muhammad ibn Abd al-Malik—both from Wāsit—narrated to us, saying: Abd al-Rahīm ibn Hārūn narrated to us, saying: Hārūn ibn Saʿd al-Ijlī narrated to us, from Atiyya al-Awfī, who said:

I asked Abū Saīd al-Khudrī about ⦗2213⦘ the People of the Household in the verse, “Allah only intends to remove impurity from you, O people of the household, and to purify you completely” [al-Ahzāb: 33]. He replied, “The Prophet—peace and blessings be upon him—and Alī, Fātima, al-Hasan, and al-Husayn—may Allah be pleased with them.”
