1696 – Abū Shuʿayb Abd Allah ibn al-Hasan al-Harrānī narrated to us, saying: Abd al-Azīz ibn Dāwūd al-Harrānī narrated to us, saying: Hammād ibn Salama narrated to us, from Alī ibn Zayd, from ⦗2209⦘ Shahr ibn Hawshab, from Umm Salama—may Allah have mercy on her—who reported that the Messenger of Allah—peace and blessings be upon him—said to Fātima—may Allah be pleased with her—: “Bring me your husband and your two sons.” She brought them—may Allah be pleased with them—and the Messenger of Allah—peace and blessings be upon him—draped a cloak from Fadak over them and placed his hand upon them. He then said, “O Allah, these are the family of Muhammad. Bestow Your grace and blessings upon the family of Muhammad. Indeed, You are Praiseworthy, Glorious.”
Umm Salama said, “I lifted the cloak so that I might join them beneath it, but the Messenger of Allah—peace and blessings be upon him—pulled it from my hand and said, ‘You are upon goodness.’”
