1695 – Abū Muhammad Abd Allah ibn Muhammad ibn Nājiya also informed us, saying: Ammār ibn Khālid al-Tammār informed us, saying: Ishāq ibn Yūsuf al-Azraq narrated to us, saying: Abd al-Malik ibn Abī Sulaymān narrated to us, from Abū Laylā al-Kindī, from Umm Salama—may Allah be pleased with her—who reported:
The Prophet—peace and blessings be upon him—was in her house, on a sleeping couch of his, with a Khaybarī cloak beneath him. Fātima—⦗2208⦘ may Allah be pleased with her—came carrying a pot containing a meat-and-flour stew. The Messenger of Allah—peace and blessings be upon him—said, “Call your husband and your two sons, al-Hasan and al-Husayn.” She called them, and while they were eating, the following was revealed to the Prophet—peace and blessings be upon him—:
“Allah only intends to remove impurity from you, O People of the Household, and to purify you completely” [al-Ahzāb: 33].
The Prophet—peace and blessings be upon him—then took the cloak and covered them with it. He then said, “O Allah, these are the members of my household and my closest kin. Remove impurity from them and purify them completely.”
