1694 – Abū Muhammad Abd Allah ibn Sālih al-Bukhārī also informed us, saying: Al-Walīd ibn Shujā narrated to us, saying: Yahyā ibn Zakariyyā ibn Abī Zā’ida narrated to us, saying: My father narrated to us, from Musab ibn Shayba, from Safiyya bint Shayba al-Hajabī, from Ā’isha—may Allah be pleased with her—who said:
“One morning, the Messenger of Allah—peace and blessings be upon him—went out wearing a cloak woven from black hair and patterned with camel-saddle designs. He sat down, and Fātima—may Allah be pleased with her—came to him, so he drew her beneath it. Then Alī—may Allah be pleased with him—came, and he drew him beneath it. Then al-Hasan—may Allah be pleased with him—⦗2207⦘ came, and he drew him beneath it. Then al-Husayn—may Allah be pleased with him—came, and he drew him beneath it. He then said: ‘Allah only intends to remove impurity from you, O People of the Household, and to purify you completely’ [al-Ahzāb: 33].”
