1693 – Abū Bakr Ja‘far ibn Muhammad al-Firyābī narrated to us, saying: Uthmān ibn Abī Shayba narrated to us, saying: Muhammad ibn Bishr narrated to us, saying: Zakariyyā ibn Abī Zā’ida ⦗2206⦘ narrated to us, saying: Mus‘ab ibn Shayba narrated to us, from Safiyya bint Shayba, who said: Ā’isha—may Allah have mercy on her—said:

“One morning, the Prophet—peace and blessings be upon him—went out wearing a cloak woven from black hair and patterned with camel-saddle designs. Al-Hasan—may Allah be pleased with him—came, and he drew him beneath it with him. Then al-Husayn—may Allah be pleased with him—came, and he drew him beneath it with him. Then Fātima—may Allah be pleased with her—came, and he drew her beneath it. Then Alī—may Allah be pleased with him—came, and he drew him beneath it. He then said: ‘Allah only intends to remove impurity from you, O People of the Household, and to purify you completely’ [al-Ahzāb: 33].”
