1677 — Abū ʿAbd Allah Ahmad ibn Abī ʿAwf al-Bazūrī narrated to us, saying: Abū Maʿmar al-Qatīʿī narrated to us, saying: Jarīr narrated to us, from al-Aʿmash, who said: “I was informed that a man relieved himself on the grave of al-Husayn ibn ʿAlī—may Allah be pleased with them both—whereupon Allah, Blessed and Exalted, afflicted the members of that household with insanity, leprosy, vitiligo, and every manner of disease and affliction.”
Abū Maʿmar said: “The members of that household were indeed so afflicted.”
Muhammad ibn al-Husayn—may Allah have mercy on him—said: “May the curse of Allah and the curse of all who curse rest upon whoever killed al-Husayn ibn ʿAlī—may Allah be pleased with them both—⦗2184⦘ and upon whoever assisted in his killing; upon whoever reviled ʿAlī ibn Abī Tālib and reviled al-Hasan and al-Husayn; and upon whoever caused Fātima pain through her children or harmed the Household of the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace. Upon him be Allah’s curse and wrath. May Allah the Generous assign him no weight, and may the intercession of Muhammad, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, never reach him.”
