1669 — Abū al-Qāsim Abdullah ibn Muhammad al-Atashī and Abū Abdullah ibn Makhlad al-Attār narrated to us, saying: Ali ibn Harb al-Tā’ī al-Mawsilī narrated to us, saying: Ibn Fudayl narrated to us from Yazīd ibn Abī Ziyād, from Ibrāhīm, from Alqamah, from Abdullah ibn Masūd, who said:

We were with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) when some young men from Banū Hāshim passed by him. His expression changed, so we said, “O Messenger of Allah, we continually see something in your face that distresses us.” He replied, “These members of my household are those for whom Allah—exalted and majestic—has chosen the Hereafter over this world. After me, they will suffer expulsion, dispersal, affliction, and hardship.”
