1664 — Abū Saīd al-Hasan ibn Ali al-Jassās narrated to us, saying: Abū Utba al-Himsī narrated to us, saying: Baqiyya—meaning Ibn al-Walīd—narrated to us, from Ismāīl ibn Ayyāsh, from Yahyā ibn Ubayd Allah, from his father, from Abū Hurayra, who said:
I went in to see the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) at his home. He was lying on his back, with one of his daughter’s two sons perched on his leg. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) began saying, “Climb up, my tiny little one!” He raised his leg until it was close to his chest, then opened his mouth and kissed him. He then said, “O Allah, I love him, so love him and love whoever loves him.”
He then wept. I asked, “What makes you weep, O Messenger of Allah?” He replied, “The angel has informed me that my nation will kill this son of mine, and that Allah’s wrath will be fierce against his killer.”
