1656 — Al-Firyābī also informed us, saying: Abū Mas‘ūd Ahmad ibn al-Furāt narrated to us, saying: Abū Sālih informed us, saying: al-Layth ibn Sa‘d narrated to me, saying: Hishām ibn Sa‘d narrated to me, from Nu‘aym al-Mujmir, who said: I heard Abū Hurayra say: One day, the Prophet—peace and blessings be upon him—took me by the hand, and we went to the market of Banū Qaynuqā‘. When he returned, he entered the mosque and sat down. Hasan then came running and tumbled into his lap, placing his fingers in the beard of the Messenger of Allah—peace and blessings be upon him. The Messenger of Allah—peace and blessings be upon him—opened Hasan’s mouth, pressed his own mouth to it, kissed him, and said, “O Allah, I love him, so love him and love whoever loves him.” Abū Hurayra said: “Whenever I saw him thereafter, my eyes would overflow with tears.”
