1653 — Abū Sa‘īd al-Hasan ibn ‘Alī al-Jassās narrated to us, saying: Abū ‘Utba al-Himsī narrated to us, saying: Baqiyya—that is, Ibn al-Walīd—narrated to us, from Ismā‘īl ibn ‘Ayyāsh, from Yahyā ibn ‘Ubayd Allah, from his father, from Abū Hurayra, who said: I entered the Prophet’s home—peace and blessings be upon him—while he was lying on his back, with one of his daughter’s two sons upon his shin. The Prophet—peace and blessings be upon him—began saying, “You will never climb up, little gnat-eye!” while raising his leg until the boy drew close to his chest. He then opened his mouth and kissed him, and said, “O Allah, I love him, so love him, and love whoever loves him.”
