1651 — Abū al-Hasan Alī ibn Ishāq ibn Zātiyā also informed us. He said: Yūsuf ibn Mūsā al-Qattān narrated to us. He said: Alī ibn al-Hasan ibn Shaqīq narrated to us. He said: Al-Husayn ibn Wāqid informed us. He said: Ibn Burayda narrated to us, from his father, who said:
“While the Messenger of Allah—peace and blessings be upon him—was delivering a sermon, al-Hasan and al-Husayn—may Allah be pleased with them both—approached wearing red shirts, walking and stumbling. The Messenger of Allah—peace and blessings be upon him—then descended from the pulpit, lifted them up to himself, and said, ‘Allah has spoken the truth: “Your wealth and your children are only a trial” [al-Taghābun: 15]. I saw these two boys walking and stumbling, and I could not restrain myself, so I interrupted my sermon and picked them up.’”
