1647 — Abu al-Hasan Alī ibn Ishāq Zātiyā informed us. He said: Abd al-A‘lā ibn Hammād al-Narsī narrated to us. He said: Hammād ibn Shu‘ayb narrated to us, from Āsim, ⦗2160⦘ from Zirr, from Abd Allah ibn Mas‘ūd, who said:
“Al-Hasan and al-Husayn—may Allah be pleased with them both—would crawl to the Messenger of Allah—peace and blessings be upon him—while he was in the mosque, and they would climb onto his back. Whenever one of his Companions came to remove them from him, he would gesture to him, ‘Leave them.’ When he had finished the prayer, he would draw them to his chest and say, ‘May my father and mother be ransomed for them! Whoever loves me should love them both.’”
