Al-Shariah li-al-AjurriAl-Ajurri

1643 — Abu ʿUbayd ʿAlī ibn al-Husayn ibn Harb al-Qādī also narrated to us, saying: Al-Hasan ibn Muhammad al-Zaʿfarānī narrated to us, saying: Shabāba—meaning Ibn Sawwār—narrated to us, saying: Mahdī narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn Abī Yaʿqūb, from Ibn Abī Nuʿm, who said: I heard Ibn ʿUmar when a man came to him and asked him about the blood of a mosquito. He asked, “Where are you from?” The man replied, “I am from Iraq.” He said, “Come and look at this man! He asks me about the blood of a mosquito, yet they killed the son of the Messenger of Allah—peace and blessings be upon him. I heard the Messenger of Allah—peace and blessings be upon him—say: ‘They are my two fragrant flowers in this world.’”
