1612 – Abū Bakr Abd Allah ibn Muhammad al-Wāsitī ⦗2123⦘ narrated to us: Ibn al-Muqriʾ narrated to us: Sufyān narrated to us, from Amr ibn Dīnār, from Muhammad ibn Alī, that Alī—may Allah be pleased with him—intended to marry the daughter of Abū Jahl. The Prophet—peace and blessings be upon him—then stood upon the pulpit and said, “Alī intends to marry the al-Awdhī woman, but he may not do so, thereby bringing together the daughter of Allah’s enemy and the daughter of Allah’s beloved. Fātima is a part of me; whoever angers her has indeed angered me.”
