1608 — Abū al-Qāsim ʿAbd Allāh ibn Muhammad ibn ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz al-Baghawī ⦗2119⦘ narrated to us, saying: Al-Fadl ibn Mūsā, a client of Banū Hāshim, narrated to me, saying: Muhammad ibn Khālid ibn ʿAthmah informed us, from Mūsā ibn Yaʿqūb, who said: Hāshim ibn Hāshim narrated to me that ʿAbd Allāh ibn Wahb had informed him, from Umm Salama, who said:
After the Conquest, the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, summoned Fātima—may Allah be pleased with her—and spoke privately with her, whereupon she wept. He then spoke to her again, and she laughed.
Umm Salama said, “I did not ask her anything about it until the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, had passed away. After his death, I asked her why she had wept and laughed. She replied, ‘The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, informed me that he was going to die, so I wept. He then told me that I would be the foremost of the women of Paradise after Mary, daughter of Imran, so I laughed.’”
