The Book of the Virtues of Fātima—may Allah be pleased with her
Muhammad ibn al-Husayn—may Allah have mercy on him—said:
Know—may Allah have mercy on us and you—that Fātima—may Allah be pleased with her—is held in honor by Allah, mighty and majestic, by His Messenger—peace and blessings be upon him—and by all the believers. Her rank is exalted and her virtue immense. The Prophet—peace and blessings be upon him—is her father; ʿAlī—may Allah be pleased with him—is her husband; al-Hasan and al-Husayn, the two leaders of the youth of Paradise, are her sons; and Khadīja the Great is her mother. Allah the Generous bestowed nobility upon her in every respect. She was the very lifeblood of the Messenger of Allah—peace and blessings be upon him—the fruit of his heart and the delight of his eyes. May Allah be pleased with her, her husband, and her pure and blessed descendants.
The Prophet—peace and blessings be upon him—said:
“Fātima is the foremost lady of the women of her time.”
He—peace and blessings be upon him—also said:
“Sufficient for you among all the women of the worlds are Mary daughter of ʿImrān, Khadīja daughter of Khuwaylid, Fātima daughter of the Messenger of Allah—peace and blessings be upon him—and Āsiya, the wife of Pharaoh.”
Muhammad ibn al-Husayn—may Allah have mercy on him—said:
We shall mention some of her virtues that have reached us, from the material available to us for inclusion here in Mecca.
