1585 — Abū Bakr ibn Abī Dāwūd narrated to us; he said: Muhammad ⦗2094⦘ ibn Abd al-Rahman ibn Abī Zuhayr narrated to us; he said: Alī ibn Qādim narrated to us, from Jafar al-Ahmar, from Yazīd ibn Abī Ziyād, from Abd Allah ibn al-Hārith, from Alī—may Allah be pleased with him—who said:

“I fell ill, and the Prophet—peace and blessings be upon him—came to me and placed his garment over me. He then stood and prayed. When he had finished, he said, ‘Rise, O Alī. I have asked Allah Most High for nothing for myself without asking the like of it for you, and I have asked Him for nothing without His granting it to me—except that He said, “There is no prophethood after me.”’”
