158 — Abū Abd Allah Ahmad ibn Abī Awf al-Bazwarī related to us, saying: Suwayd ibn Saʿīd related to us, saying: Muʿāwiya ibn Ammār related to us, saying: Jaʿfar ibn Muhammad—may Allah be pleased with them both—was asked concerning the Quran, “Is it a creator or created?” He replied: “It is neither a creator nor created; rather, it is the speech of Allah Most High.”
