157 — Abū al-Qāsim Abd Allah ibn Muhammad ibn Abd al-Azīz al-Baghawī related to us, saying: Dāwūd ibn Rushayd related to us, saying: Abū Hafs al-Abbār related to us, from Mansūr, from Hilāl ibn Yasāf, from Farwa ibn Nawfal, who said: Khabbāb ibn al-Aratt took me by the hand and said: “O man, draw near to Allah Most High by whatever means you can, for there is nothing by which you can draw near to Him ⦗493⦘ that is more beloved to Him than His speech.”
١٥٧ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْقَاسِمِ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ الْبَغَوِيُّ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا دَاوُدُ بْنُ رُشَيْدٍ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو حَفْصٍ الْأَبَّارُ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ، عَنْ هِلَالِ بْنِ يَسَافٍ، عَنْ فَرْوَةَ بْنِ نَوْفَلٍ قَالَ: أَخَذَ خَبَّابُ بْنُ الْأَرَتِّ بِيَدِي فَقَالَ: يَا هَنَاهُ، تَقَرَّبْ إِلَى اللَّهِ تَعَالَى بِمَا اسْتَطَعْتَ، فَإِنَّكَ لَسْتَ تَتَقَرَّبُ إِلَيْهِ ⦗٤٩٣⦘ بِشَيْءٍ أَحَبَّ إِلَيْهِ مِنْ كَلَامِهِ
