1531 — Ibn Abī Dāwūd also narrated to us, saying: Hishām ibn Yūnus al-Luluī narrated to us ⦗2056⦘, saying: Abū Muāwiya narrated to us, from al-Amash, from Adī ibn Thābit, from Zirr ibn Hubaysh, who said: I heard Alī—may Allah be pleased with him—say from the pulpit: “By Him who split the seed and created the living soul, this was indeed the solemn assurance given to me by the unlettered Prophet—may Allah bless him and grant him peace: ‘None but a believer will love you, and none but a hypocrite will hate you.’”
