1519 — Abū al-Qāsim Abd Allah ibn Muhammad ibn Abd al-Azīz al-Baghawī also narrated to us, saying: Abd Allah ibn Umar al-Kūfī narrated to us, saying: Al-Muttalib ibn Ziyād narrated to us, saying: Abd Allah ibn Muhammad ibn Aqīl narrated to us, saying: I was with Jābir ibn Abd Allah when he said: We were at al-Juhfa, by Ghadīr Khumm, when the Messenger of Allah—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—came out to us from a tent or pavilion. He beckoned with his hand three times, saying, “Come, come, come.” Some people from Khuzāa, Muzayna, Juhayna, Aslam, and Ghifār were there. He then took Alī—may Allah be pleased with him—by the hand, and the Messenger of Allah—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—said, “Do I not have a greater claim upon the believers than they have upon themselves?” They replied, “Indeed.” He said, “Whoever has me as his ally has Alī as his ally.”
