1515 — Abū Bakr ibn Abī Dāwūd also narrated to us, saying: Al-Musayyab ibn Wādih ⦗2045⦘ narrated to us, saying: Marwān ibn Muāwiya al-Fazārī narrated to us, from Marzūq, from Abū Bistām, the client of Usāma, who said: There was a dispute between Usāma and Alī—may Allah be pleased with him—so the Messenger of Allah—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—said, “O Alī, by Allah, I truly love him,” meaning Usāma. It was as though Alī—may Allah be pleased with him—felt hurt, so the Messenger of Allah—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—said, “O Usāma, whoever has me as his ally has Alī as his ally.”
