1502 — Abū Bakr ibn Abī Dāwūd narrated to us, saying: ʿAbbād ibn Yaʿqūb narrated to us, saying: ʿAlī ibn Hāshim informed us, from ʿAbd al-Malik ibn Humayd, from Jamīʿ ibn ʿUmayr, who said: I entered upon ʿĀʾisha—may Allah be pleased with her—with my mother when I was a boy. The two of them mentioned ʿAlī—may Allah be pleased with him—whereupon ʿĀʾisha—may Allah be pleased with her—said, “I have never seen any man more beloved to the Messenger of Allah—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—than he was, nor any woman more beloved to the Messenger of Allah—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—than his wife.”
