1474 — Abū Hafs Umar ibn Ayyūb al-Saqatī narrated to us, saying: Yūsuf ibn Mūsā al-Qattān narrated to us, saying: Uthmān ibn Zufar al-Taymī narrated to us, saying: Muhammad ibn Ziyād narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn Ajlān, from Abū al-Zubayr, from Jābir ibn Abd Allāh, from the Prophet—peace and blessings be upon him—that the body of a man was brought to him so that he might offer the funeral prayer over him, but he did not do so. They said, “O Messenger of Allah, we have never seen you refrain from offering the funeral prayer over anyone except this man.” He replied, “He used to hate Uthmān; may Allah hate him.”
