1471 – Abū Abd Allah Muhammad ibn Makhlad al-Attār informed us: Muhammad ⦗2000⦘ ibn Ishāq al-Sāghānī narrated to us: Bakr ibn Khirāsh narrated to us: Habbān ibn Alī narrated to us, from Mujālid ibn Saīd, from Sakhr al-Ijlī, who said:
Al-Hasan ibn Alī—may Allah be pleased with them both—said: “I would not fight after a vision I had. I saw the Messenger of Allah—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—holding on to the Throne. I saw Abū Bakr with his hand upon the Prophet’s shoulder—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—and I saw Umar with his hand upon Abū Bakr’s shoulder. I saw Uthmān with his hand upon Umar’s shoulder, and beneath them I saw blood. I asked, ‘What is this?’ It was said, ‘This is Allah—Mighty and Majestic—seeking requital for the blood of Uthmān—may Allah be pleased with him.’”
